LCFC volunteers started the weekend off bright and early on Saturday morning. At approximately 12:01 A.M., the company was dispatched to the 200 block of Leona Drive in Upper Uwchlan Township for poles and wires, reported as a transformer on fire. Brush 73 and Traffic 73 made the response and once on scene, both units met up with Upper Uwchlan Police in the area of Leona Drive and Font Road. The officer from Upper Uwchlan observed the wires sparking and arcing for a short time period before the units from LCFC arrived. Brush 73 provided a pole number to the county for a PECO notification and all units cleared a short time later.
Shortly after, at approximately 1:30 A.M. our QRS was dispatched for a medical emergency in East Nantmeal Township. Our QRS responders handled this call along with responders from the Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS.
At 8:00 A.M., the company was dispatched to the intersection of Fellowship Road and Pottstown Pike for an automobile fire. Assistant 73 went enroute and was advised by the county that police were on scene advising one car well off. A short time later, Engine 73-2 and Engine 73-1 made the response. Once on scene, the crew from Engine 73-2 stretched an 1 3/4" handline and extinguished the fire. Crews operated for a short time before returning available.
At 12:45 P.M., the company was dispatched for an engine and tanker to assist station 47 (Lionville Fire Company) on a commercial building fire in the unit block of Pottstown Pike in Upper Uwchlan Township. The company was recalled a short time later when the incident was scaled back. |
