By Ludwigs Corner Fire Company
August 28, 2025

At 1:48 a.m. on August 28th, Ludwigs Corner Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Lionville Fire Company with a commercial building fire on the 500 block of Wellington Square in the Eagleview Town Center.

Initial reports indicated a possible transformer fire, followed shortly by reports of an explosion and a report that the building was on fire.

Ludwigs Corner responded with Engine 73-2 and Engine 73-5, staffed by eight volunteers. Also assisting on the call were West Whiteland Fire Company, East Brandywine Fire Company, Minquas Fire Company, and Uwchlan Ambulance.

Engine 73-5 arrived as the third-due engine and laid a supply line to Tower 47 before sending the crew to the Charlie side of the building to force entry into Brickside Grille. The crew stretched a 300-foot handline off Engine 47-2 and entered the building to check for fire extension. Inside, they encountered light smoke and an activated sprinkler system, but no fire extension into the 1st floor.

Meanwhile, Engine 73-2’s crew made access to the second floor, where they checked for extension, monitored gas levels, and assisted with roof ventilation and suppression efforts. After it was determined the fire had not spread into the 1st floor, the crew from Engine 73-5 was directed to Tower 47. There, they operated off Tower 47, using a K-12 saw and New York hook to open the roof and check for hidden fire. The fire is currently under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshals Office.

Crews from Ludwigs Corner operated on scene for approximately 90 minutes before being released.

A special thank you to Honey Brook Fire Company for covering our station during the incident.
