At 5:47 a.m. on May 7th, LCFC and mutual aid (Kimberton, Lionville, Ridge, Twin Valley, and Uwchlan Ambulance) were dispatched to the 2400 block of Flowing Springs Road for a residential fire, reported as smoke in the dwelling. Battalion 47 was the first emergency responder on scene and advised County that he had heavy smoke showing with heavy fire from the rear of the 2 story farmhouse. Battalion 47 established Flowing Springs Command and requested the working fire dispatch and first alarm tanker task force due to the lack of water supply in the area. The first alarm tanker task force added tankers from Glen Moore, Kimberton, Norco, and Valley Forge.
Engine 62-5 arrived as the first due engine and laid approximately 1000' of 5" hose from the end of the driveway to the fire scene and used their deck gun to get water on the fire on the second floor. Engine 73-1 arrived immediately after Engine 62-5 and assisted with fire attack. Multiple handlines and ladders were deployed as the crews from the remaining companies helped with an aggressive interior attack. Crews encountered heavy fire on the top floor with extension to the attic and quickly worked to extinguish all actively burning sections of the building. A second RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) team from Phoenixville was dispatched when the original RIT team (Lionville) was used for fire suppression. The fire was placed under control at 6:44 a.m. and crews remained on scene completing overhaul until approximately 8:00 a.m.
