QRS & BLS Squad Service
When you call 911 in a medical emergency, you need help FAST. In the Ludwigs Corner Fire Company territory, the first EMT arriving on scene will almost always be a member of our EMS Agency. Response time is the absolute priority for medical emergencies. Our fire based EMS is in the best position to respond quickly and provide vital services on scene, prior to the arrival of the transport ambulance.
We provide Emergency Medical Services to our community through our Licensed Emergency Medical Services Agencies, the Ludwigs Corner Fire Company Quick Response Service and the Ludwigs Corner Fire Company BLS Squad Service. We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by certified Emergency Medical Technicians. The equipment and medications carried by our EMT’s is comparable to that carried on a BLS ambulance, enabling us to administer lifesaving care in advance of the arrival of the ambulance, which must travel into our area from well outside the townships we serve.
Our 100% volunteer EMT's responded to over 450 medical emergencies in 2024. We provided care in our neighbor's homes, at area schools and businesses, and at motor vehicle accident and fire scenes. Our EMT's undergo continuing education and training to provide our community with the highest level of fire-based emergency medical services.

Our EMT’s travel to emergency scenes in our fully equipped 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe EMS Squad, as well as in their personally owned vehicles. Traffic 73 (see apparatus) is also licensed and equipped as a Ludwigs Corner Fire Company QRS response vehicle.
Stop by the firehouse any Monday night at 7 p.m. to see what we’re all about. We’re always looking for new members. We’ll supply all the training and equipment. All we need from you is your desire to serve the community.
