At 3:43 p.m today., LCFC was dispatched for the entire company to assist Ridge Fire Company for a reported house fire in the 1600 block of Sheeder Mill Road in West Vincent Township. Tower 61 (Kimberton Fire Company) and MICU 67-5 (West End) were also due on the assignment. Engine 73-1, Engine 73-2, Rescue 73, Tanker 73, and Traffic 73 all made the response for LCFC.
While numerous pieces of apparatus were responding, West Vincent Police Department arrived on-scene and reported active fire in the kitchen. Deputy 62 arrived on-scene shortly after, confirmed the report given by the West Vincent PD, and assumed Sheeder Mill Command. Engine 62-2 and Engine 62-1 were the first two engines on-scene and the crews from these engines stretched a line to put a quick knock on the kitchen fire. Engine 73-1 arrived with a full crew as the third due engine and assisted with utility control, ventilation, and overhaul. Engine 73-2 also arrived with a full crew as the fourth due engine. The crew from 73-2 stood-by on scene for a short period of time before being sent to Ridge Fire Company to cover their territory while they remained on-scene.
All crews cleared the scene shortly thereafter and Engine 73-2 was released from Ridge Fire Company. Crews operated on-scene for approximately one hour before returning. A total of 22 LCFC members responded for the house fire on this rainy afternoon. |
