Earlier this evening, at 7:56 p.m., LCFC, MICU 87-1 (Uwchlan Ambulance), and Tower 47 (Lionville Fire Company) were dispatched to the 100 block of Magnolia Drive in the Eagle Hunt Development for a reported chimney fire. Chief 73, Deputy 73, and Assistant 73 were all enroute shortly after dispatch. Assistant 73 was the first on-scene and arrived to a 2-story, single family dwelling with nothing evident from the exterior. Deputy 73 arrived shortly thereafter and the incident was scaled back to just the units from LCFC.

Engine 73-2 was the first piece of fire apparatus on-scene and the crew threw ladders and assisted with cleaning out the chimney box. In the meantime, Engine 73-1 arrived on-scene and the crew assisted with ventilating the house. The crew that went to the roof was able to remove the chimney cap and found the source of the fire to be debris that was stuck in the chimney cap. The crew ran a chain down the chimney flue to make sure this was clear as well. With the chimney cap removed and the issue resolved, both crews were able to clean up and clear the scene. 17 members from LCFC responded to this call and operated on-scene for approximately 50 minutes before clearing.
