Accident With Entrapment On Rt.401

On Tuesday, October 5th, around 8:45 A.M., LCFC along with Uwchlan Ambulance were dispatched to the 3000 block of Conestoga Road for an auto accident with unknown injuries. A few seconds after the initial dispatch the radio room received additional information that there were two vehicles involved with one patient possibly trapped. The incident was instantly upgraded to an ALS accident with entrapment. QRS 73, Rescue 73 and Assistant 73 all went enroute shortly after dispatch. QRS 73 arrived on scene first and confirmed the report of one trapped. Assistant 73 and Rescue 73 arrived and starting extracting the victim. Rescue crews performed a door pop and a dash roll to free the victim's feet. MICU 87-1 arrived and took over patient care. The patient was extricated in just under 15 minutes and transported to the hospital. Crews remained on scene to assist with clean up and cleared just after an hour later.
