On May 31st at 4:15 p.m., LCFC volunteers and Uwchlan Ambulance were dispatched to the intersection of Pottstown Pike and Conestoga Road for an auto accident. The initial report received from the county was one vehicle overturned with one patient down in the roadway. Chief 73 and Deputy 73 were both enroute soon after dispatch. Chief 73 arrived on-scene to find one vehicle off the roadway with wires down. While the vehicle was not overturned, it had sheared off a telephone pole and brought down multiple wires.

Chief 73 established Route 100 Command and upgraded the accident to ALS. Chief 73 also requested an additional ALS unit and the next due Fire Police be added to this call. An additional ALS unit from Uwchlan Ambulance was dispatched along with fire police from Station 47 (Lionville Fire Company). Due to the downed wires, Route 100 needed to be shut down both north and south of the accident scene.

QRS 73, Rescue 73, and Traffic 73 all made the response on this call as well. Members from the QRS team immediately began patient care upon arrival until the ambulances were able to arrive. The crew from Rescue 73 assisted with patient care and hazard control. Traffic 73 shut down Route 100 at Conestoga Road for the duration of the incident. Crews remained on-scene for approximately one hour and twenty minutes until the roadway was able to be re-opened.

This was the third call of the day for LCFC. Earlier in the day, members from the company handled two automatic fire alarms. The first was on Meadow Creek Lane in Upper Uwchlan Township and the second was on Horseshoe Trail in East Nantmeal Township.
