LCFC volunteers handle multiple calls

During the week of April 5th, Ludwigs Corner Volunteers handled 12 calls for service.

On Monday, April 5th, around 8:00 p.m., our QRS members handled a medical emergency in West Vincent Township.

On Tuesday, April 6th, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the company was dispatched for the residential fire alarm in the 1100 block of St. Matthews Road in West Vincent Township. Assistant 73 and Engine 73-2 made the response, While enroute, West Vincent Police arrived and observed smoke coming from the windows of the residence. With this information the assignment was upgraded to a structure fire. Engine 73-2 and Assistant 73 arrived simultaneously. Engine 73-2 laid 5" LDH (Large Diameter Hose) up the driveway in case a water supply needed to be established. WVPD officers were able to make entry into the home and discovered the stove had been left on while the homeowners were out. Chief and Deputy 73 arrived a short time later and the incident was scaled back to units from Ludwigs Corner. Crews opened windows and used fans to ventilate the home. Crews operated for just over an hour before returning available.

Later that night around 9:00 p.m. the company was dispatched to relocate to Downingtown (Station 46) while they operated at a commercial building fire. Engine 73-1 made the response and stood by in Downingtown for roughly 2 hours until being released and returning.

On Wednesday, April 7th, around 8:45 a.m., our QRS team handled a medical emergency in East Nantmeal. Later that day, around 2:00 p.m., our QRS handled another medical emergency in West Vincent

On Thursday, April 8th, around 1:00 a.m., our QRS handled a medical emergency in East Nantmeal.

A few hours later, around 3:25 a.m., the company was dispatched to relocate to Honey Brook Fire Company (Station 33) while they operated on a barn fire in East Earl. Engine 73-1 made the response and stood by in Honey Brook for roughly 20 minutes before being returned.

Finally, at 10:00 a.m. that day, the QRS handled a medical emergency in West Vincent.

On Friday, April 9th, around 1:00 a.m., the company was dispatched to the unit block of Pine Drive in West Vincent Township for the residential fire alarm. Engine 73-2 made the response. Once on scene the crew checked the residence and reset the alarm. They cleared a short time later.

That evening, around 6:00 p.m., the company was dispatched to the 100 block of Windgate Drive for an appliance fire, reported as a dryer. Chief 73 made the response and arrived on scene to find the fire was out. Engine 73-2 arrived and checked the area around the dryer with TICs and removed the dryer. Crews then ventilated the residence. Traffic 73 also made the response and the crew assisted with ventilation. Crews cleared a short time later.

That night, around 10:00 p.m., our QRS handled a medical emergency in East Nantmeal.

On Sunday April 11th, around 12:00 a.m., LCFC was dispatched to the unit block of Pine Drive in West Vincent for the residential fire alarm. Engine 73-2 made the response. Once on scene, crews checked the residence with TICs, reset the alarm, and cleared a short time later.
