On Sunday, March 14th, LCFC crews were kept busy with multiple calls for service throughout the day.

At approximately 9:27 a.m., the company was dispatched to the 600 block of Benson Lane in Upper Uwchlan for a reported appliance fire, reported as an oven. Chief 73 went enroute and was informed by the 911 center that the fire had been extinguished by the homeowner. Chief 73 went on scene confirming the report. Engine 73-1 arrived shortly after and crews checked the area around the oven for possible extension with a TIC (thermal imaging camera). Nothing was found and crews cleared a short time later.

At 11:54 a.m., the company was dispatched as part of the working fire and tanker task force for Tanker 73 and Rescue 73 to assist the Longwood Fire Company on a working barn fire in the unit block of Wawaset Farm Lane in Pocopson Township, Chester County. Due to the area being stripped of resources due to another 2 alarm fire in the area, Tanker 73 and Rescue 73 were sent to an area of the county where LCFC crews are rarely dispatched. Both pieces of apparatus made the response very shortly after dispatch and made the long drive to Pocopson Township. Once on-scene, Tanker 73 shuttled water from the fill site to the fire ground. The crew from Rescue 73 assisted in setting up a dump site for the tankers and with fire attack and overhaul at the scene. After roughly three and a half hours, crews from Rescue and Tanker 73 cleared the scene and returned to our local.

At 3:38pm the company was alerted for the Brush truck to assist the First West Chester Fire Company on a brush fire in the 1100 block of North New Street in West Goshen. Brush 73 went enroute but was recalled by command prior to arrival.

At 5:59pm the QRS (Quick Response Service) answered a medical call in West Vincent Township.

Finally, at 5:46pm the company was alerted to the 1700 block of Fairview Road in East Nantmeal Township for an automatic fire alarm, Chief 73 went enroute and was advised by the 911 center of an audible smoke detector going off. Shortly after, Engine 73-1 went enroute. Chief 73 went on-scene and upon investigation, Chief 73 found the owner had burnt some food and recalled the assignment.
