Wednesday, December 23, 2009 20:18 - At 8:18 PM on Wednesday evening the LCFC was alerted for a house fire in station 61 (Kimberton's) territory. The first call was for an Engine. Engine 73-2, with a full crew, responded first, along with Chief Guth, to the scene.
Also making the response were several other local area fire compaines: Lionville (47), Valley Forge (68), Phoenixville (65) East Whiteland (5) and the Chester County Fire Marshall.
The fire was quickly upgraded to a second alarm, which called for the entire LCFC company. Tanker 73, Rescue 73 and Traffic 73 responded.
Once on scene the crew from engine 73-2 began setting up for water supply operations by drafting from a small nearby creek. Then the crew proceeded to the scene and entered the man power pool. The crew from Rescue 73 filled air bottles while on scene.
Crews battled the fire on both the inside and outside of the home, help vent the roof, refilled air bottles and assisted with overhaul. The fire was brought under control in under an hour.
All the LCFC returned to the station shortly after midnight Thursday morning.
Special thanks to the crew from station 69 (Twin Valley) who watched over our local while we were assisting with this event.
